Raw Puerh
Fresh and vibrant raw Puerh tea
About Raw Puerh Tea
Raw Puerh, also known as Sheng Puerh, is the traditional form of Puerh tea that ages naturally over time. These teas are prized for their complex flavor profiles, strong tea energy (cha qi), and incredible aging potential.
Our Raw Puerh Selection
We specialize in raw Puerh from the most prestigious tea mountains in Yunnan, including Lao Ban Zhang, Yiwu, Bingdao, Nannuo, and Jingmai. Each mountain produces tea with distinct characteristics, from the powerful and bitter-sweet Lao Ban Zhang to the elegant and floral Yiwu.
Characteristics
- Flavor: Fresh, vibrant, often floral or fruity with varying levels of bitterness and astringency
- Aroma: Fresh and bright, ranging from floral to honey-like
- Tea Qi: Strong and invigorating, particularly in ancient tree teas
- Liquor Color: Pale yellow to golden amber
Aging Potential
Raw Puerh transforms beautifully over time. Young raw Puerh (1-5 years) is fresh and vibrant. Medium-aged (6-15 years) develops complexity and smoothness. Well-aged raw Puerh (15+ years) becomes mellow, sweet, and incredibly smooth with deep complexity.
Health Benefits
Raw Puerh is high in antioxidants and may help boost metabolism, improve mental alertness, and support digestive health. The strong tea qi provides an energizing effect that tea enthusiasts particularly value.
